I graduated from Youngstown State, Go Penguins! with
a BA in voice and graduated from Carnegie-Mellon with a MFA in Opera
performance. I then moved to Chicago and got a job at 7-Eleven at
$3.75 an hour. Thank God for I got my degrees! I did perform in
Opera around Chicago but was mostly involved with the Community
Theater scene. I met my wife while doing Sweet Charity, she was
Charity and I was Vitorio Vidal. We've been married for 37 years now
and do shows together whenever we can in both musicals and straight
shows. We have 2 sons, Will and Pete. I was fortunate to get into HR
and out of 7-Eleven and spent the last 13 years with United
Airlines. As a result of the virus, I was able to retire and am
really enjoying that free time. Here's hoping everyone is well!

I still live in Gates Mills in a
house that my husband and I "literally" built 35 years ago. Now
divorced, my two married daughters live very close by. I am a very
involved grandmother to 3 grandkids under 5 years old. I graduated
from Kent SU with a degree in Art but settled in to a job with
Mayfield City Schools. Eventually I landed at the high school in
their new state of the art library media center where I work now.
It is so much fun walking the halls where we all went to school and
remembering all the good times, but you will be amazed at how the
building and campus have changed!

managed large apartment complexes, built condos for an OH S&L on
Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, and moved to Florida in 1986. I'm still here

During the summer months my husband Scott and I travel around the
country in our motor coach and we've been fortunate enough to have
seen so much of this beautiful country, meet new fun people and
visit family and friends we rarely get to see otherwise.
Life is good! Love it!

I am still a
professor at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. Five
years ago, I stepped down as the dean of the College of Design,
after 19 years in that position, to direct the Minnesota Design
Center, which is an urban design research center at the University,
and to teach the urban design classes in the college. My wife,
Claudia, and I recently moved into a new solar-powered house in St.
Paul, MN, behind our previous house, where my older daughter, Ann,
and her husband, Otto, and our two grandkids - Gus and Etta - now
live. And my younger daughter, Ellen, and her husband, Luis, bought
the house next to us, so we now live in a family compound of three
adjacent houses, which has been wonderful to have everyone so close
by during the pandemic. My mom moved to Breckenridge in Willoughby
last year and I try to get to Cleveland as often as possible to see
her, and I am looking forward to making it back for the 50th
reunion.

After graduating from Mount Union
College with a teaching degree in French and English, I spent
several years teaching, getting laid off, teaching, getting laid
off...so eventually got a paralegal degree. Marty
and I had married in 1978. After working one year in downtown
Cleveland as a paralegal, I was fortunate enough to be able to stay
home for 10 years with our 2 daughters while Marty held down his job
at GE. I did some in-home day care during those
years, then in 92 started teaching pre-school part-time at a
Lutheran school. Figured little ones were now my
specialty! I did that for 15 years and thoroughly
enjoyed it! Our family also took on a special
ministry in 1989 doing pre-adoptive foster care for newborns, which
has been an amazing experience. We've been doing
that for 25 years now and have fosterd 48 precious babies.
Good-bye days are always difficult, but when I see the joy of
the adoptive parents, all is good.

It seems so long since I attended Mayfield High School, although my
mom, who is now 94 (95 in January) still lives in the house I grew
up in Highland Hts. I am currently living in Las Cruces, NM, where I
have my own business as a sales rep covering the Land of Enchantment
and West Texas. I represent companies selling Housewares and Gourmet
Foods and I'm also represent a greeting card line called Leanin
Tree. I've been here for over 6 years, and before that I spent 30
years living in the Chicago area.
I have two great kids, my daughter, Kristen, is a physician and will
be getting married in Cleveland next May. My son, Ryan, attended
Stanford, and sold his software company to Dropbox earlier this
year.
I follow the class events and reunions, but its hard for me to
attend the reunions. Maybe after I retire, (hopefully in 2 1/2
years), I'll be open to more travel around the country.
Would love to catch
up with anybody who might remember me after so many years!

Retired. Decided there's not enough money in the world to make
me feel secure, so pulled the plug on work life. After MHS, went
to Case and then the U of Washington. Spent nine years in the
Air Force fighting the Commies (gotta love comrade Brezhnev,
though), thirteen years at Boeing, and ten years teaching
computer networking and doing consulting (consult = connive +
insult) in computer investigations and security. Now settled on
30 acres in East Texas growing hay, hunting wild pigs and
searching for Burt Reynold's canoe.
Now, since we know the NSA is listening: В начале июля, в
чрезвычайно жаркое время, под вечер, один молодой человек вышел
из своей каморки, которую нанимал от жильцов в С — м переулке,
на улицу и медленно, как бы в нерешимости, отправился к К — ну
мосту. I'm willing to let them spend a few million dollars to
find out this is just from Dostoyevsky.
And no, I don't have a Facebook page.

sons John and Jason, and my stepson Greg all work with me. It's become quite a family operation. I divorced a few years back and remarried 2 years ago on Valentine's Day. My wife Cathy and I have 6 children and 13 grandchildren between both families. WHEW!! We're located on the coast 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and 60 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina. Speicher Spahr
Hi, everybody!
My life has been full. I went to Cleveland State for my undergraduate in
Speech Pathology and Audiology/Special Ed and worked in the Main and Law
School Library to put myself through school. When I graduated I went to
Case to get my graduate degree in Library Science and worked at
Frieberger Library. I married (Steve Spahr) while at Cleveland State and
had a son (David) and when I was at Case I had a daughter (Sarah). Case
closed down the Library Science school so I went to work at B. Dalton
managing the Severance store for three years. I got divorced around this
time. After that I became the Librarian at URS Consultants for 5 years
(an architectural and engineering firm in Shaker Hts.) I went on to work
at Calfee Halter and Griswold for 6 years as the Records Manager. And
lastly Developers Diversified was looking for someone to start their
records program so I started working there, was promoted a couple of
years later to Director of Operations (I was at DDR for 8 years). I left
there in 2006 to go into non-profit as a Business Manager for a
transitional housing shelter for homeless families called New Life
Community. I loved this job, unfortunately the economy tanked and some
of us were laid off. Shortly after that I had something like a stroke
and I've been on disability. I have good and bad days, bud my spirits
are great. I see this as my new normal, accept life as it is and live
one day at a time.
I
have five beautiful grandchildren. David and his wife Liz gave me two
little girls. Sarah and her husband Andy gave me two amazing little boys
and a girl. I read lots of books and research and maintain a family tree
my late father started on the Speicher family name that has as of this
writing 61,000 names. I spend most of my time on genealogy and have
reunited 3 people with their birth mothers.
